Jorge Ignacio López Smith

Creative advisor

Jorge graduated from the Theater Department of the University of Chile’s Arts College.  He is vastly experienced in the preparation, creation, direction and production of television programs.

He began his audiovisual career more than 20 years ago as segment creative in Chilevisión’s “Extra Jóvenes” TV program.   He subsequently joined Chilefilms, where he participated as pundit and writer for programs such as "Condominio" with Silvia Piñeiro, "Las Cosas  de Cada Día", "Zero Rollo", "Los Venegas" and "Pijama Party".

In the mid 1990’s he created and wrote programs such as “El Desjueves”, “Na que ver con Chile”, and “Ríete  Punto com”.  Likewise, he actively collaborated -as creative and writer- for such icon Chilean TV programs as “Viva el Lunes” and “Venga conmigo” which bolstered TV Channel 13’s program scheduling.

Jorge is the Creative Director of such TV programs as “Vértigo”, “Vértigo Extremo”, and “Mucho Lucho”, “El rival más débil ”,“ Intercambio de Esposas ”,“ Quién quiere ser millonario ”,“ Trato Hecho and “La movida”.

Throughout his professional career, he has also created some of Chile’s most noted TV characters such as “La Viky y La Gaby”, “Humbertito” and “Los Fisicoculturístas”.  Moreover, he came up with the idea of some of the characters interpreted by Daniel Alcaíno, such as “Peter Veneno” and “Yerko Puchento”.

Lately, Jorge has successfully ventured into the private business sector, doing creative campaigns for Marketing Trade Group.  Currently, he is the property owner of “La Joda Producciones”, from where he provides his private consulting services as one of the country’s most important and seminal creatives.

Currently, in addition to his post at TV Channel 13, Jorge is Hill & Knowlton Captiva’s Creative Director.
