Max Cano

Corporate Area and Crisis Management/ Public Administration Director

Max is a Journalist with a Licentiate degree in Social Communications from the Diego Portales University and a Post-Graduate degree in Government & Public Policies from the Alberto Hurtado University and socio-environmental conflicts from the United Nations. He has over 12 years of experience in the field of strategic communications and public affairs.

For 6 years he worked at the Burson - Marsteller agency in the areas of brand communications, corporate & public affairs, and where he led projects in the areas of energy, defense, environment, health issues, construction, financial and automotive issues, among others. In 2006 he joined Aguas Andinas as the company’s CSR Area Chief, from where he managed the processes involving the relationships with the human communities living in close proximity to the company’s water treatment plants; the Group’s sustainable development report & CSR policy development efforts, among others. He joined Hill & Knowlton Captiva in April 2008 as External Communications Director.  Subsequently, he assumed as the company’s Public Affairs & Crisis Management Area Manager, in addition to heading its Legal Communication projects. He currently directs all corporate areas of HKC.

At present, Max represents Hill & Knowlton Captiva in the country’s legislative debate regarding the draft lobbying bill. Among those clients to which he has provided professional consulting services, are: Lockheed Martin, CGE, Emel, Cia. Minera Santa Fe, Standard Chartered Bank, Invesa-Briones, Guacolda, Ford Motor Company, Arcadis, Petrobras, AGSA, Cerámicas Industriales S.A. y Chilevisión, HSBC, Apollo Global, Chilena Consolidada, Nestlé, among others.

He serves as Professor of Strategic Communications, Crisis Communications and Media Department for undergraduate and postgraduate students at Diego Portales University and Talca University.
