Matías Cartajena

Matías is a Journalist who graduated from the Finis Terrae University and obtained a Master’s Degree in Management & Public Policy from the Adolfo Ibáñez University. He has worked in the newspapers La Segunda and La Tercera, where, with only 23 years, he was appointed as Deputy Editor, a position from which he was responsible of the sections Feature, Police, Court and Society. Four years later he joined Extend Comunicaciones as Communications Director, a company where he reached the positions of managing partner and director.
Matías has advised more than a hundred companies in the last few years in corporate affairs and crisis management & legal communications, acquiring a high expertise in those two disciplines.
He has advised multinational companies such as Nestlé, Barclays, Standard Chartered, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Tata Consultancy Services, Scotiabank, Oceana International, SC Johnson, Boston Scientific, Sacyr, Gas Natural and Cintra, among others. Also, he has supported important Chilean companies and institutions such as CGE, Corporación Santo Tomás, Minera Santa Fe, Termas de Chillán, VTR, Enjoy, Farmacias Cruz Verde, GasValpo, Integramédica, Moneda Asset Management, Poder Judicial, Presto, Pucobre and Tur-Bus.
Given his known leadership in the industry, he is a usual speaker in seminars and communications events. Also, he has given more than 20 classes of Strategic Communications in the universities of de Chile, Adolfo Ibáñez, Finis Terrae, Viña del Mar, Alberto Hurtado, Los Andes and Uniacc, among others.
